The mind wanders. You can return. Krishna tells Arjuna to bring the mind back to the Self. Bhagavad Gita 6.26

यतो यतो निश्चलति मनश्चञ्चलमस्थिरम्। ततस्ततो नियम्यैतद् आत्मन्येव वशं नयेत्॥ भगवद्गीता ६.२६

Say it slowly Yato yato nishchalati Manash chanchalam asthiram Tatas tato niyamyaitad Atmany eva vasham nayet Bhagavad Gita 6.26

What Krishna means The mind can be restless and unsteady. Wherever it wanders, bring it back under the guidance of the Self. Returning is part of the practice. Keep doing it with patience.

A small practice today Give one quiet minute your attention. When a thought carries you away, notice it. Return to your chosen focus. Repeat without scolding yourself. Each return is another chance to practise.
